Toronto Maternity Photography

Capture your big, beautiful belly

Toronto maternity photography is about acknowledging what’s to come. As a lifestyle maternity photographer in Toronto, these sessions are designed to feel grounded, emotional, and deeply personal. Whether you’re planning an outdoor maternity photoshoot in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area or an in-home maternity session, the images preserve a season that doesn’t last long, but changes everything.

Why You Should Book a Maternity Photoshoot

1

Maternity Photography and Newborn Photography Tell a Complete Story

Some families choose maternity and newborn photography to document both chapters of their transition into parenthood. Together, these sessions create a cohesive story — from anticipation to arrival. The photographs preserve the beginning of your baby’s life in a way they can one day appreciate.

2

Toronto Maternity Photography Documents Your Growing Family

Working with an experienced maternity photographer in Toronto means choosing someone who understands that a maternity photoshoot is more than just photos. It is a shared experience that brings your family together in anticipation of what’s to come. A maternity family photoshoot becomes part of your family’s visual history.

3

Outdoor Maternity Photos Create Stunning Images

Many families prefer outside maternity photos instead of in-home or studio sessions for the scenic views and the experience itself. An outdoor maternity photoshoot in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area allows you to enjoy the seasons Canada offers while embracing this stage of pregnancy.

4

Toronto Maternity Photography Preserves This Chapter of Life

Pregnancy is temporary, but the shift into motherhood is permanent. Toronto maternity photography captures this transition before it becomes memory. A dedicated maternity session allows you to slow down and acknowledge what your body and life are preparing for.

Planning & Preparing for Your Maternity Photoshoot

Between 7-8 months or 30 weeks pregnant is the best time to have your maternity photoshoot. At this point your belly will be big but not too heavy where posing will be uncomfortable. If you’re past this timeline, you’re not too late. Get in touch and I’ll do my best to accommodate your maternity photoshoot based on availability.

Once you book your lifestyle photoshoot with me, you will receive a detailed preparation guide. The guide outlines clear steps to help everyone participating in the session feel confident, including pets. Additionally, it includes guidance on what to wear for maternity photos with thoughtful styling recommendations for all. It also has ideas for props or personal items you may wish to incorporate. As a lifestyle photographer I focus on keeping things natural and true to you. I do not have a client closet, or provide maternity gowns, accessories, props, or complex setups.

Yes. A maternity family photoshoot is often more meaningful when your partner or children are included. These sessions are about documenting your growing family and the transition you’re experiencing together.

Uncooperative children and pets during photoshoots are more common than you may think. I encourage your children or pets to lead the rhythm of the session while you interact naturally. Rather than trying to tame or correct them, I focus on documenting who they are.

Yes. My Toronto maternity photography is available to all.

I will give you gentle guidance and direct you into natural poses throughout your photoshoot. You will receive suggestions on where and how to sit, stand, and place your hands. I will also give you various prompts to help you feel at ease in front of the camera. You will never be asked to do anything that feels forced or uncomfortable.

Feel free to share any ideas or inspiration you have with me. I cannot promise that I can create exactly what you are envisioning but I will try my best. If there is anything I am unable to do I will let you know clearly, as I don’t want you to have expectations I cannot meet.

Lifestyle photography is meant to reflect you and your life. You’re encouraged to choose a meaningful location for your outdoor pictures. If guidance is needed, once you book, you’ll receive a curated location guide featuring outdoor settings across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area that I’ve photographed previously. As a lifestyle photographer serving the GTHA, I travel throughout various regions. My pricing includes a set travel radius based on kilometres, with the option to extend distance if needed.

As an experienced lifestyle photographer in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area, I photograph at various times of day. However, the ideal time for outdoor photography is during golden hour. Golden hour occurs shortly after sunrise or a few hours before sunset. During this window, the sun sits lower in the sky, which creates soft, warm light and reduces harsh contrast. Additionally, early mornings often mean less crowd in parks and fewer distractions. As a result, your lifestyle photoshoot feels relaxed.

I recommend avoiding midday whenever possible. Bright overhead sun creates strong shadows, causes squinting, and limits flattering angles. On overcast days, however, we gain flexibility. Clouds diffuse sunlight evenly, which produces soft and flattering lifestyle photos.

The best time for in-home lifestyle photography is anytime during the day before the evening. This way we can make use of the beautiful natural light coming into your home.

I can photograph in moderate rain or snow when conditions allow. However, for outdoor photoshoots, clients must have an indoor or covered backup location in case weather conditions pose a safety risk. Clients may also reschedule once without additional charges. My contract outlines full details regarding rescheduling and weather policies, and we review these together before booking.

Yes. You can combine both in-home and outdoor settings within the same lifestyle photoshoot. If you would like images taken indoors and outdoors, we can begin inside your home and then move outside to your front or backyard, or to a nearby park.

Lifestyle photoshoots typically take place in your home or outdoors across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area. However, if you prefer a rented studio, I can coordinate the booking details while you would be responsible for the studio rental payment.

My turnaround time varies depending on the time of year and overall workload. You will be provided with an estimated delivery timeframe when booking.

We will have a phone consultation before booking to get to know one another and ensure we are aligned on expectations. If you prefer to meet face-to-face, we can also arrange a video call beforehand.

Start by reaching out through my contact form with details about your shoot and what you’re interested in. I’ll follow up and guide you through the booking process. You can also review my investment page to explore pricing and understand what to expect beforehand.
